Lake Powell 2009

What an aMaZiNg trip we had! I love lake Powell and there is nothing better than being there with family. A very BIG Thank you to Eric and Alisyn for all the preparation and hard work. It was a great week and we had fabulous weather. We played, swam, boarded, rode the wave runners, explored, cliff jumped, lizard hunted, hiked to Rainbow Bridge, ate lots of good food, helped rescue some one's stuff after the storm, had a sand stone spa and fight ;) (thanks Angie) and had an all around superb time. Thank you everyone for making this such a fun trip!

Beautiful Grandma Elsie Egbert

John's Amazing grandma passed away last week. We were able to visit with her just the day before. She was diagnosed with liver cancer 4 years ago and told she had 6 months to live.....well that just says it all. She still had a lot of life left to live and we love her very much. She always had a sparkle in her eye and a giggle on the way. I always loved how she would crinkle her eyes and cover her mouth when she laughed. we were able to attend her funeral Saturday and it was wonderful. Everyone talked about how wonderful she was and even though there were tears the joy of the legacy she left behind far outweighed that sadness. Thank you Grandma for leaving us such a great example to follow!
We love you.

Oregon Coast Trip

Wow,

What a great trip we had to Oregon. Thank you Jeff and Katie for hosting our riotous crew. We had so much fun. We spent 3 days in a beach house at Seaside. The beach was right out our front door. We spent the first day on that beach and the next two days we drove about 15 minutes north to Hug point Beach. When the tide was out you can go around one point to another beach and the water fall but we had to be careful and watch the tide coming in so we could get back around before we were stranded. The kids had a great time hunting for sea life and learning to skim-board and body board. The water was freezing but the kids didn't seem to mind so much. At night we walked down the boardwalk to the Candy Man store where the kids could spin the prize wheel and we even had some winners. Then we topped it off with ice cream cones. This was such a fun vacation. I can totally see us doing this more often. On the way home we went to Multnomah falls it is the 2nd tallest year-round falls in the states. It is so beautiful there everything is green and mossy I loved being in the forest just moments from everywhere. Thank you again Jeff and Katie we love you guys!
